Memorial Day Weekend

Over Memorial Day Joseph and I flew to LA to spend a few days soaking up the sun and taking a break from our daily grind.

We stuffed ourselves on some of our favorite LA foods, walked by the beach, rode the Santa Monica ferris wheel for the first time. That ferris week is kind of freaky, since you are pretty high and at the end of the pier. At one point in the circle you feel a little like you might fall into the ocean. We went to the Griffith Observatory. We fantasizes about what life would be like if we lived in LA. We attempted to fly kites at Will Rogers estate. Which is a pretty impressive place. It was fun to imagine what it would have been like to live there in the 1920s.

We spent time with my oldest brother and his family. Including his newest little baby who is just so perfectly squishy. It made me excited and terrified for our own baby.

It really was the perfect little weekend get away. We love living in New York, but I also love leaving it sometime.

The only downside of the trip was apparently my nausea decided to come back on our red eye flight, so in the taxi home from the airport I started our first day back from vacation with a 7am puke session. Fortunately Joseph had grabbed the puke bag from the plane so I didn't puke all over the seat, but it was still pretty traumatic. The cabby was pretty nice about it though offering me an extra bag and some tissues.

  1. Curse you, nausea! If LA weren't such a rip off, concrete jungle of homeless drug addicts and plastic surgeried soccer moms, we'd be down to move there. jokes jokes, generalizations and all that. I'm glad you had a good trip!!
