Charlotte

A couple of weeks ago I traveled from Philadelphia (via the megabus) to Manassas, then from Manassas down to Charlotte (or more accurately Gastonia).  We drove down to Charlotte on Wednesday and Joseph started his second internship of the summer at a firm in Charlotte on Thursday.  It was a  busy couple of days.  While in North Carolina we did some touring around to check things out, relaxing, and of course ate some good food.

Fried Fest at The Penguin

Peaches from The Peach Stand

Checked out the U.S. Whitewater Park

Cabo Fish Tacos

Finally saw Harry Potter

Toured around the Fourth Ward neighborhood

Sadly, I had to leave Joseph in Charlotte and come back to Philadelphia all by my lonesome.

I stole most of these pictures from my sister-in-law.

Marathon Training - Week 9

Monday - cross training day - p90X cardioX video
Tuesday - 3 miles (treadmill) with weights
Wednesday - 7 miles, before work, I was tired this day
Thursday - 4 miles
Friday - Rest day
Saturday - 10 miles, this week is a pull back week, so shorter mileage.  I tried to run them faster which lasted for about 7 miles and then I had to slow down a little bit, but it felt great.  I took an ice-bath for 25 minutes after this run and my legs felt so amazing the rest of the day.

Marathon Training - Week 8

Monday - still sick, I ended up just watching movies and laying on the couch.  we will call this a rest day.
Tuesday - 30 minutes elliptical, 30 minutes weights
Wednesday - 3 miles on the treadmill (the treadmill is the worst), followed up by weights and squats
Thursday - 6.4 miles, it was overcast and windy because it has been raining, so nice
Friday - Rest
Saturday - 13 mile run - seriously underestimated our fluid needs on this run, and there are some seriously freaking hills at by my parents house

Marathon Training - Week 7

This week has not been a great week, I was sick most of the week, and I was preparing to move on Friday.  So this was a busy, busy week.

Monday - I started a P90X video but didn't finish the whole thing, I just wasn't feeling it
Tuesday - A slow 3 miles (I was sick and thought I might die on the trail)
Wednesday - 6 miles
Thursday - I took the day off because I still wasn't feeling very great
Friday - rest day = moving day.  Needless to say, it wasn't a very restful day and I definitely got in a workout
Saturday - 12 miles was on the plan, but I didn't have the internet to map my route so I was just kind of guessing and ended up actually running 12.5 miles.  I got up at 6:15 to beat the heat, I am glad I did but it was still 80 degrees and humid, but I guess that is better than 100 degrees and humid. Overall, this run went really well, I was tired at the end but not demolished so that is good.  We had to finish moving in the afternoon and painting back by old apartment so by the end of the day I was totally beat.
