Boot Camp and Cop Cars

Last night I got driven home by Temple campus police.

Why did this happen? oh, I will tell you.

Last night my teacher canceled class to give us some time to meet together with our groups to work on our group project.  So since I was on campus and we got down earlier than we would have if I was in class, I though that it would be a good idea to go to the gym on campus after class.

We got done around 6 and there was a Boot Camp class starting at 620, so I hussled over to the gym changed and ran upstairs just in time for the start or the class.

Class started and everything was going great I was jumping around like a crazy fool for twenty minutes to "Like a G6" enjoying the change of pace from my normal workout routine.

Then we started the weights portion of the class and I started to feel really dizzy.  So I was trying to play it cool so I stopped and I was trying to breath and relax but everything was only getting worse, I knew I needed to lie down.  Fortunately the room where they keep all of the supplies was only a few feet from where I was standing, my goal was to make it in there so that I could lie down without making a scene and maybe no one would notice.

So carefully I start walking...ok one step, breath, keep it together Megan, keep it together....then i must have blacked out because when I come to a little bit I am clutching the music system and I hear a girl in the class say "Theres something wrong with her" pointing right at me, I look up and the whole class (at least 60 people) are just staring at me.

This is exactly what I didn't want to happen.  Then I must have blacked out again because all of the sudden I am sitting on the ground and the instructor keeps asking my name (to me all I keep thinking is why is this lady asking me my name, why does she care what my name is, and what the freak is going on) then I realize I had blacked out. Not Awesome. According to the lady it was only for a few seconds.

Meanwhile all 60 of the people in the class are still staring at me.

At this point two things become funny to me, one is that one of the temple police officers, an older gentleman, was actually in the class (for working out)  along with the 60 girl undergrads. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and not call him a perv. second, a girl comes running in with a defibrillator.

At this point there were probably about 10 people (medical and otherwise)staring at me asking me if I am okay, if I need any water, had I eaten today (it was 630 PM people of course I had eaten) and what my TUid is. Sorry people I don't have my Temple ID number memorized, it is in my bag DOWNSTAIRS, and since I am currently laying flat on my back, I can't go get it for you.

Now things start to calm down, I tell them this has happened before, it is nothing serious I just need to lie down for a little while.  So finally we move to another room so that those 60 people staring at me can go back to getting there workout on, and I can fill out some paperwork.

Usually I just take the subway home from school because it is to dangerous far to walk home, but everyone thought that was a bad idea, they were afraid I would pass out again on the subway and end up sleeping next to a homeless person, so a very nice police officer offered to take me home.

So this folks is how I ended up having my first experience riding in a cop ca.

P.S. Joseph was very disappointed I didn't get a picture of my in the car.

P.P.S. I am totally fine, nothing is wrong with me, I have had all the tests, sometimes I just pass out for no apparent reason. I don't even have any after effects.

  1. I knew where this was going as soon as you said you were getting dizzy. :) And I really thought you were going to make it to the equipment room before it happened.
