Last Friday the weather was perfect. When it is cold during January and February I usually try to fit as much of my body as possible inside my coat and walk as quickly as possible to where ever I need to go. I also try to avoid going outside at all costs. However, last Friday it was in the 60's, not windy, and wonderful.
Joseph and I decided we needed to be outside to take advantage of this weather, so we had a little date, that involved walking slowly through the streets and rediscovering the charm of Center City.
First, we went to 500°, a burger joint near our house that makes gourmet burgers. We both got burgers and shared some fries and a milkshake.
Since the weather was so perfect we didn't want to go right home. So, we headed to
Rita's, which we had heard was reopened after its winter hibernation was open again, in search of some water ice. And everyone knows that Rita's has the best water ice in town.
Since we had just shared a milkshake, we just got a small mango (my favorite flavor) to share as we walked home. It was a very nice night.
*Editor's note: All this week it has been in the thirties/twenties, and today we are having hurricane-like rain. But at least it was nice last week for a perfect little date.
