Fate

Do you believe in fate? I am not so sure that I do, but the other day I may have accidently turned my nose up at fate.

Walking around the city inevitably leads to random people making comments, asking you quesitons, and just saying weird things.  The other day was no different.

I was walking to the subway to go to class when a normal looking man approached me and asked me if I knew how to get to the trolley line.  Since I am a public transportation expert, and he didn't look too threatening or drunk, I told him how to get there, and was about to continue on my way when....

Random Guy: "Do you have red hair?"
Me: "No, It's brown.  It must just be the lighting down here."
Random Guy: "Are you sure it's not died red?" Leaning in closer to get a better look at my hair
Me: Take two steps back, "No it's brown."
Random Guy: "Well, I am filming a low budget movie over in West Philadelphia.  These bags are full of camera equipment.  Would you, in a couple of weeks, be interested in being in my movie?"
Me: "Um, no thank you."  Walk away quickly

What if this low-budget movie was my one chance to make it big in "the business" and I passed it up because this guy was giving me the creeps?

I may never know.

  1. Megan, what were you thinking?!?!? Creepy guy randomly approaches you and asks you to be in a movie, and you TURN HIM DOWN?! Are you insane? I don't know if we can even be friends anymore. Sure, he might be a stalker, serial killer or worse, but there is always the slim-to-none chance that he really was serious about the whole movie thing, and the even slimmer-to-none chance that maybe it all would have panned out and made you rich and famous. Isn't that worth the much, much, much greater chance of him being a psycho? If you happen to see him again, give him MY number--I'm willing to take the risk (and even dye my hair red if necessary). Ahhh, what a weird experience! haha This is why I love reading your blog. :)
