New York has the most amazing way of making Philadelphia feel like such a small city. Every Sunday night when I get home, I am always struck with how much smaller things are in Philly, and really by just how huge everything is in New York. It really is amazing.
Are you bored of my weekend recaps? sorry if you are but since I don't really do much during the week besides sleep, work, run and write my Masters thesis this is what you get.
Saturday morning we slept in, like really slept in. We didn't wake up or even move until 10:30 and at that point we only really got out of bed because we felt like we probably shouldn't sleep all day. I haven't slept that late in a long time, but in this apartment Joseph is staying in the bedroom doesn't get direct sunlight and it is off the street which equals quiet and dark all the time, which is perfect for sleeping in.
After waking up we headed out for a 6 mile run, it was pretty warm at this point but we ran along the Hudson which was pretty and had a fairly good breeze. During our run we stopped to watch some little tiny boys play baseball because it was so funny to watch 4-5 five year olds playing baseball.
We stopped our run at the Westside Market like we do every week to get Joseph supplies for the week. I don't think he can handle going grocery shopping by himself.
Then we headed down to the High Line. It is a new park they put in on an old raised train track. It was pretty cool, but kind of crowded. However we ended up in the meatpacking district, which was really awesome to walk through. A very cool part of town.
We went to dinner at Grimaldis a suggestion from my sister-in-law and it was really really tasty. We got an antipasto plate and a pizza with sausage and mushrooms.
This is a picture of me after the fact. Only one lone piece of pizza survived. We were too hungry at the start to think about blogging.
We ended the night by going to see X-Men: First Class. We had bought some fandango tickets through Groupon and they were burning a whole in our pockets. Two tickets for nine dollars, best deal ever. Especially considering in New York it is 13 dollars for ONE TICKET! I couldn't even believe it.
Oh actually we ended the night with a shake from a Mister Softie truck outside of the movie theater. This was a great decision. I love that Mister Softie truck.
