After the worlds longest bus ride I finally made it to New York. TWO hours late. I hustled up to the Bronx because we had tickets to the Yankees game and I had already missed the first couple of innings and I was really angry about it. I finally made it to the game to meet up with Joseph and my friends Shelly and Clark. I was so happy to see Shelly, it had been way too long.
The Yankees were playing the Rockies. The Yankees lost. Joseph was sad, Shelly was happy, I didn't really care. I was just happy the drunk guys sitting next to us kept forcing the 800 lb. bag of Swedish Fish on us. They kept calling them rally fish.
Saturday morning we forced ourselves out of bed early to get a 7 mile run in before we went to meet up with Clark and Shelly for some donuts.
We had heard about this place called the Donut Plant, and that it had some of the best donuts in the city so we knew we wanted to go.
After getting way too many donuts we headed over to Katz's Deli for some bagels. We feasted on all manner of bread items with holes in the middle. In my opinion it was a great way to spend the morning.
While we were eating out feast we had out first celebrity siting. Joseph was the only one who knew who he was, and let me tell you he was excited. Mostly it was just kind of funny. We were taking bets on whether or not he would pay for his lunch. He did. It's Charles Rangel. You can Wikipedia him.
After we said goodbye to Clark and Shelly (and Chuck) we headed back up to the Upper East Side. We walked along Central Park and arrived at the Met. I love the Met. So many good things.
After the Met we wandered a little bit further up the East Side to take a look at the Guggenheim from the outside. A really cool building.
Then we headed back down to go to the original location of the Shake Shack. So delicious. We sat in Madison Square Park, checked out the art exhibits and took pictures of the Flat Iron Building.
When we finally made it home we were both so tired we went right to sleep. It was a fun day, but exhausting.
